Chief Impact Officer, Community Ministries

Youth for Christ of Northern Indiana (YFCNIN) is searching for a leader in the Fort Wayne community who will focus on furthering the mission and vision of YFCNIN and develop our neighborhood and community-focused ministry programs throughout our region.

This full-time position is part of a larger YFCNIN team dispersed across nine different counties and including over thirty staff members (staff link). You will be a part of a team committed to going wherever teenagers are in their community, diving into the messy world they live in, and offering the hope that comes through Jesus!

This role consists of: 

Staff leadership - Lead, coach, serve, and encourage our team of staff and ministry leaders who are engaging in relational ministry across our region - stepping into ministry with our team and coaching through the beauty and mess of relational ministry with young people. This position will be responsible for building and retaining the right group of people needed to accomplish the mission. 

Ministry impact and excellence - Gatekeeper for excellence in City Life, JJM, and other community ministries models, ensuring that ministry standards are being met and that proper training, development, curriculum, and techniques are being implemented. Additionally, this person will show a willingness to engage in direct ministry for personal involvement and effectiveness with the team. 

Organizational leadership - This will be an executive level position. This person will serve on the YFCNIN leadership team and will be engaged in vision casting and strategy for the organization. He/she will also offer leadership in promoting and encouraging the increase of cultural competency for our team. 

Community engagement - Actively engaged in the community representing YFCNIN. He/she will be encouraged to serve on strategic boards and task force groups. He/she will be the gatekeeper for several key partnerships with churches and like-minded organizations. 

Financial development - This person will have a large stake in fund development. He/she will oversee and be responsible for managing and securing the annual department budget of $500,000+ by leading his/her team, growing community funding relationships, and overseeing agreements with local foundations. 

Ministry development - Focus on expanding the reach of ministry, specifically increasing authentic Christ-sharing relationships throughout our region utilizing City Life, JJM, and other community-focused ministry models. 

Operational management - While many operational functions on a detail-level are coordinated and executed by members of the Community Ministries and YFCNIN team, this person will ultimately oversee the operations of the facilities where ministry is happening including our 46807 City Life building in Fort Wayne and any future facilities. 



  • An authentic and abiding personal relationship with Jesus Christ 
  • A deep and driving desire to see young people find hope in Jesus 
  • A genuine hope for community transformation 
  • 6+ years of proven leadership experience 
  • 5+ years serving in high-need communities 
  • Master’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Existing strong relationships and presence in the Fort Wayne community preferred
